PSA Lifesaver LIF6800RL 240V Photoelectric Smoke Alarm, 10 Year Rechargeable Lithium Battery

The PSA Lifesaver LIF6800RL is a surface-mount 240V photoelectric smoke alarm backed by a rechargeable lithium battery with a 10-year life. It is designed for long-term protection in houses and apartments, and gives electricians a quick replacement for ageing mains alarms where the existing base is compatible.

Units can run alone or be hardwired together, up to 24 per system, for whole-home warning. Fitting a compatible wireless base later adds RF interconnection and remote test and hush, which gives an upgrade path for rental properties and renovations.

Key features

• 240V AC 50Hz supply, drawing up to 10mA in alarm and 4mA on standby, with a built-in rechargeable lithium backup
• Photoelectric Advance sensor with an anti-static chamber and insect mesh to reduce nuisance alarms
• 85dBA at 3m using the ISO 8201 T3 pattern; when interconnected, only the initiating unit flashes its red LED
• Hush mutes the alarm for 9 minutes (heavy smoke overrides it), and low-battery beeps can be muted for 8 hours
• Alarm memory and chamber monitoring indicate a past trigger or a chamber that needs attention
• Approved to AS 3786:2014; ActivFire, SAI Global and RCM listed

• Hardwired to mains, so installation requires a licensed electrical contractor
• Terminals: 9V, Active, Switch, Neutral and Loop; housing is 130mm in diameter by 45mm deep
• Indoor use only; rated from 0 to 40 degrees C, humidity to 93% RH non-condensing
• Smoke detection only; it does not sense heat or carbon monoxide
