PSA Lifesaver LIF6800 240V Photoelectric Smoke Alarm, 9V Battery Backup

The PSA Lifesaver LIF6800 is a photoelectric smoke alarm for ceiling or wall mounting. It runs on 240V AC mains, with a replaceable 9V alkaline battery as backup (Duracell supplied). It is often used to replace ageing hard-wired alarms that have discoloured, started chirping or reached the end of their service life. It is equally suited to new builds and renovations where 240V photoelectric alarms are specified.

One alarm can protect a single area, or up to 24 can be interconnected so that smoke detected anywhere sets off every alarm in the home. That helps on multi-storey houses and rental properties that need to meet smoke alarm rules.

• Advanced photoelectric sensor, with a bug screen and an anti-static chamber to reduce nuisance alarms from insects and dust
• QUICK SLIDE base lets the alarm come off for servicing without disturbing the wiring
• Alarm output of 85dBA at 3 metres, using the ISO8201 T3 pattern (three long beeps, repeated)
• Hush silences the alarm for 9 minutes, but dense smoke overrides it
• Low battery hush quietens the warning beep for 8 hours

Installation notes

Terminals are 9V, Active, Switch, Neutral and Loop, and the unit measures 130mm by 45mm deep. Use it indoors only, within 0°C to 40°C and up to 93% RH non-condensing. It is not suitable for bathrooms, other damp areas or outdoor locations. It detects smoke only, not heat or carbon monoxide. Installation on 240V circuits must be done by a licensed electrician.
