PSA HomeGuard HG140AC 240V Photoelectric Smoke Alarm, 9V Battery Backup

The HG140AC from PSA HomeGuard is a hard-wired 240V photoelectric smoke alarm with a replaceable 9V backup battery. Photoelectric sensing reacts well to the slow, smouldering fires common in homes and helps keep nuisance alarms down. The alarm has an oversized 140mm diameter body, which makes it handy on changeover jobs where the old alarm left screw holes, paint lines or marks on the ceiling.

It can be installed on its own, or interconnected with up to 48 alarms over a maximum of 150m of interconnect cabling to protect an entire dwelling.

Key features

• Runs on 240VAC 50Hz mains (6mA), with a replaceable 9V battery as backup
• Alarm output of 85dB at 3m using the ISO8201 sound pattern
• Large combined test and hush button that silences the alarm for roughly 10 minutes
• Red and green indicator LEDs, with the red LED flashing quickly during an alarm
• Low battery is signalled by a chirp and a red LED flash every 60 seconds
• Approved to AS3786:2014 and covered by a 10-year warranty

Installation notes

The terminals are Active, Interconnect, Neutral and Loop. Because the alarm connects to 240V mains, a licensed electrician must install it. Rated operating conditions are 0 to 45°C and 5% to 95% humidity. Overall size is 140mm in diameter by 38mm high, in white.
